Hope and Laughter

Death had power
The power of hate
Of strength
Of fear
But it wanted more
It had more
It had the power of greed
And its greed controlled it
Strengthened it
Helped Death with its wrath
And so Death
Found a kingdom
With power that Death did not have:
The power of love
Of hope
Of laughter
And Death wanted it
Wanted it badly
Wanted the kingdom
The kingdom of good
And it captured the kingdom
With its Fear and Strength
It captured all that’s good
And all Good became Evil
All but one

The last Good
Was Laughter
And laughter rang
Its silvery sound
Rushed through the air
And Hope recovered
It escaped from Death
And Hope sang
Sang with Laughter
Hope and Laughter
And they fled from Death’s forest
Fled together
Away from the kingdom
Until the sun came down again
And cast its rays
On Death’s new palace
And all Good was free once more
And Evil was forever banished
